LANCASHIRE HEELERS CLUB
A BREED CLUB FOR LANCASHIRE HEELER
• FOUNDED 2011 •
The heeler is the smallest dog in breed group 1: herding dogs. The Lancashire Heeler is an English breed that is on the list of vulnerable breeds due to the low number of individuals and thus a small gene pool.
Heelers are wonderful little creatures, that were originally drifting shepherds, guardians of farm and home, and it kept the farm free of beasts. Today there are individuals who have varying amounts of the original characteristics, but all are big personalities with enormous loyalty to their owner(s), lovely training and competition partners, fun walking companions and loving everyday dogs.

Breeders
This database is the most easily accessible and has the largest number of registered individuals of the breed. It is important to note that although it is possible to make fictitious matings, the calculation of the degree of inbreeding is somewhat different to what you get in dogweb. Anything under 10% is ok. It is desirable to get as close to 0 as possible.
